What to Wear to the Office + Life Update

Hey guys! Long time, no talk I know

First let me just say that although I had a ton of great ideas and plans for Christmas / Winter / New Years themed posts, I just did not get around to them. This time of year can be extremely stressful, and it's important to remember not to wear yourself too thin. Between the holidays, having family stay with us, and starting a new job (more info on that in a sec), I have just been so busy. So, I decided to take a little break from blogging to focus on everything else going on. It's so important to live in the moment and enjoy the holidays with your family so that is what I did!

Okay, so now that that's out of the way, lets get down to business... Or should I say business casual? Here are two office ready looks for fashionistas who have a dress code but don't want to sacrifice looking and feeling cute and stylish. The reason i'm finally doing an office wear post (and the reason i've never done one in the past) is because I have a new job working for an amazing company called Leidos, and it has a 'business casual' dress code. I kind of panicked because I: 1. didn't own any business-y clothing at all, and 2. I don't know how to wear pants that aren't jeans or leggings. Because of all that, I knew I had to do a little research, and that is exactly what I did. Here are two looks I came up with:

Look #1:

Jacket c/o | Lace Tank (Sold Out) | Pants (Sale!) | Bag | Pumps | Watch

I love this look because it is business-y but not boring. The pop of lace on the tank adds a feminine touch, while the jacket keeps everything looking polished and put-together. Not to mention a pump that goes from office appropriate to party ready with the change of an outfit. I also LOVE these (also available/on sale in grey) and these for fun heels as well. Talk about versatile!

Look #2:

This look is definitely a much more classic approach to office wear. You can never go wrong with a pretty blouse and a blazer. This look is also one you can play around with. Try adding a bright colored blouse for a pop of color, a fun statement necklace for a touch of bling, or a pencil skirt if you're really feeling sassy.

Okay, well that's it for this post! I hope to put together more cute office-ready looks in the future, and I promise to share them all! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you all have a wonderful New Year as well. Becoming a better blogger and posting much more frequently is at the top of my New Year resolutions list, so i'll be back much sooner than later. Be sure to keep an eye out!
